Nice write up. I am glad to be home. But I do love GMA for the connections with old and new friends. My thoughts mirror many of yours.

Cheers,

J

Oh, technical difficulties in Nashville. They are everywhere. I have yet to attend a show that started on time for exactly this same reason. I'm surprised you didn't comment on the hat-wearing here, though. It's rampant, and it's not just baseball caps. It shocked me when I moved here. Maybe I'm just overly fixated on it, since I don't wear hats...

" 2. Everyone is in a band (or at least thinks they are)." This is pretty much just the Nashville experience, I've found. Kinda like when moving here, I just assumed that everyone I knew who went to Belmont majored in either music business or commercial music performance. Also, I think the cycle of fashion starts in LA...that's the city that young Nashville wishes it was (I'm discounting "old" Nashville, which is rooted in the classic country scene of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson). Typically, the Belmont kids go out to their LA campus, or some new country or Christian act (or actor/model/whatev) comes in...and the whole town takes their fashion cues from them. It's a little disturbing. And more than a little hilarious at how much effort is put into looking so generically "unique."
